Always take/drink cat's claw tincture with at least 6 ounces (3/4 cup) of water and an acidic such as a little lemon juice to avoid absorption through the tongue. You can add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice or 1 teaspoon of Apple Cider Vinegar to the water to increase the acidity of the solution.
Tea is fine too, I'd make the tea on the strong side, 1-2 'heaping' teaspoons per cup of hot water. You do not want to boil the herb. To high of heat destroys the plant's phytochemical compounds. Pour boiling water over the herb in a cup, cover and steep for at least 15 minutes if you have 'shredded' Cat's Claw. For thick barks, twigs, roots, berries and seeds, you want to steep your tea for at least 20 minutes.
Shredded Cat's Claw Bark is preferred
Here is how I make my Cat's Claw Tincture:
Gather up all your supplies. Dried herb, preferably 'shredded' herb is what you want for this Cat's Claw glycerin tincture, but not powdered herbs if possible. You can use powder if you have nothing else, fill jar a little more than 1/2 way with powder herb. Cut Cat's Claw Bark, (below picture) will do too, fill jar 3/4 of the way up if using cut bark.
Take 1 'clean' quart glass jar, fill it with shredded Cat's Claw all the way up to the top of the quart jar.
Cut Cat's Claw Bark will do too.
Push the shredded Cat's Claw slightly down in to the jar a little, add 1/4 cup of water to the jar of Cat's Claw for water soluble phytochemicals.
Add 1/4 cup of organic Apple Cider Vinegar or Lemon/Lime Juice to the quart jar with Cat’s Claw in it.

Add a 1/4 cup of water for water soluble phytochemicals to quart jar. Add to the jar of shredded Cat’s Claw bark vegetable glycerin all the way up to the top of the jar. Make sure the herb is covered.
Place a dish towel at the bottom of your crock pot to put your glass jar where you will put your jar of herb and glycerin on top. The dish towel will protect your glass jar from breaking, bouncing up and down because of low boil bubbles.
Place a canning lid on jar in crock pot water bath. Fill crock with water all the way up to the top of the crock pot max. Set on low heat for 24 hours. The heat will ‘activate’ the phytochemicals. At the end of 24 hours of heating in crock pot, put jar of Cat's Claw in a dark cabinet for 6 to 8 weeks shaking it up daily. The vegetable glycerin should turn a slight reddish color of the Cat's Claw bark. The more potent the tincture, the redder it gets. While brewing Cat's Claw tincture, please try not to take the loose lid off of the brewing tincture as it might allow uninvited guest in to the jar.

As you probably already know, plant phytochemicals need to be heated, (not over heated) to activate and release their potency. Our bodies do not generate enough heat to activate the medicinal qualities of the herbs. This is why we drink 'hot' herbal teas.
You can go ahead and start using the Cat's Claw tincture right after the water bath in the crock pot, if you want to. It will still work at protecting and healing you, but it will not be as strong as it will be at the end of brewing for 6 to 8 weeks in a dark cabinet.
You will want a milliliter marked 'dropper' for Cat's Claw daily doses. I recommend a full 1 ml dropper, which should be about 30 drops of medicine, give or take a few.
Husband and I take 4 ml full droppers 5 to 8 times per day or more, when we are contaminated with the BioWeapon.
We take 4 ml of Cat's Claw once per day for maintenance if we are not contaminated.
We take Cat's Claw 4 ml 3 to 5 times per day, or more if we are around shedding people.
We were taking Ivermectin every 3 days while infected. Currently not infected, we discontinued use of Ivermectin during the winter.

I agree that tinctures should sit for 6 to 8 weeks. There are ways to heat them and do them in a few days, but I think the medicine should be drawn out slowly. With this tincture recipe, I heat and brew.
When your tincture is done, pour it through some cheese cloth and squeeze it to get all the liquid out of the herbs. Pour your strained tincture liquid into a jar with lid and discard the herbs. Keep your tincture medicine in a dark cabinet away from direct sunlight.
Seal the jar of strained tincture with a lid and label it with the date that you prepared it. Or you can always purchase Cat’s Claw glycerin tincture. Make sure the tincture is made with organic ingredients and contains acids of lemon or apple cider vinegar for proper absorption, or you can add your acid your self if your Cat’s Claw tincture does not have acid in it. Does not matter if Cat’s Claw tincture is glycerin or Alcohol, add lemon or ACVinegar.
